Pandora’s New Crafting Facility Can Produce over 1.5 Million Pieces of Jewellery per Week.Pandora has launched Tripe A, its new LEED Gold Certified crafting facility in Bangkok. It is built as an expansion near PANDORA’s current crafting facility in Gemopolis on the outskirts of Bangkok. The name Triple A draws inspiration from three buildings previously located on the same land – A9, A10 and A11.

Thomas Touborg, SVP Group Operations noted Triple A to be an important landmark in the company’s process to ‘meet consumers’ demand for beautiful jewellery at affordable prices made in an environmentally-friendly way’.

Triple A, according to Pandora is a new standard in reference to craft, scale, speed and environmental impact in the jewellery industry. It is core to the company’s strategy to invest in more agile production capabilities and introduce innovation within the space of pocket-friendly jewellery. According to Thomas Touborg, the ‘investment also underlines our long-term and strong partnership with Thailand and the Thai people.’

The innovative approach as seen in Triple A for jewellery crafting including flow lines making use of artificial intelligence vehicles to transport parts between work stations and managed by up to 5,000 craftspeople. The set is estimated to enable the facility to produce over 1.5 million pieces of jewellery per week and reduce the 5-8 weeks production lead time to a maximum of 4 weeks.

Pandora has acquired the LEED Gold certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for this facility. The highest sustainability standards are maintained at Triple A – recycling of wastewater that saves up to 60 percent on water consumption, energy-saving exhaust systems and a rooftop garden that reduces energy consumption and gives employees a relaxation environment are installed.

Triple A has the latest technology installed for jewellery production. It has achieved full score in Water Efficiency and Innovation Design according to the LEED Gold certification. There are four floors dedicated to production to house around 46 flowlines.
