The Costco Wholesale webinar on 24th April, brought the retailer’s merchandising team and CEO together to outline its sourcing strategy, product categories and supplier onboarding processes. The session provided a clear view into procurement practices at the world’s third-largest retailer.
The webinar was conducted exclusively for exporters registered on the India-USA Trade Facilitation Portal, developed by the Consulate General of India, New York to facilitate B2B trade by connecting Indian exporters with US importers. The session aligned across time zones, held at 8:30 AM (Indian Standard Time) and 11:00 PM in New York, USA.
This marked the portal’s first webinar, with a number of similar initiatives planned, including webinars, virtual exhibitions and buyer-seller connects.
Shri Prakash Gupta, Hon’ble Consul General, Consulate General of India, Seattle, attended the session, referred to his recent meeting with Costco’s CEO and conveyed appreciation, noting Seattle as the location of Costco’s global headquarters.
Smt Rajlakshmi Appasaheb Kadam, Consul Trade, Consulate General of India, New York, was acknowledged for coordinating and conducting the webinar, with participants highlighting the smooth execution of the session.
GJEPC members engaged directly with Costco’s leadership during an extended Q&A, raising queries on compliance, sourcing norms and entry requirements.
