ALROSA’s Ecologists Start Fish Stocking in Rivers of Yakutia

ALROSA began preparation for the fish stocking season in an effort to protect the river populations of Yakutia. The corporate’s Chief Ecologist Polina Anisimova with colleagues has visited a fish manufacturing unit in the Chernyshevsk settlement (Yakutia) as a part of the 2020 fish stocking season.

From Might to September 2020, over four mln of larval fish and 65,000 of fry can be launched in Lena and Vilyui rivers, in addition to in Timir-Kyunde lake and Vilyui reservoir. This would be the largest launch since 2012 when ALROSA began cooperation with the Chernyshevsk fish manufacturing unit.

In September, we are going to think about the implementation of a long-term program on fish stocking with the Authorities of Yakutia being concerned,” mentioned Polina Anisimova, Chief Ecologist of ALROSA.

ALROSA has been cooperating with the Chernyshevsk fish manufacturing unit since 2012. Yearly the corporate offers financing. In 2020, ALROSA invested RUB 10 mln in a fish stocking program in comparison with RUB 6 mln in 2019.
