Randy Smallwood, new Chair of the World Gold Council

The World Gold Council announces the appointment of Randy Smallwood. He is the President and CEO at Wheaton Precious Metals Corp. He succeeded  Mr. Dushnisky of AngloGold Ashanti.

Mr. Smallwood was involved in the founding of Wheaton, was appointed President in 2010 and CEO in 2011.  Also, he is the Chairman of the board for Special Olympics BC.  Besides that, he received the British Columbia Institute of Technology Distinguished Alumni Award.  Also, he received Business in Vancouver’s BC CEO of the Year Award in the enterprise category in 2019. He expressed his pleasure to join the World Gold Council as its new Chair.  Further, he stated, “ I look forward to working with David Tait and the rest of the team, and the entire Board to further advance the invaluable work of the World Gold Council and deliver industry-leading standards that help set the bar.”

David Tait, Chief Executive, World Gold Council stated “  “Randy has been a valuable member of the Board for many years and brings a wealth of knowledge and industry experience”.  Also, he commented, “I am very much looking forward to working closely with him as our new Chair.”
