India Networks with USA at JCK Las Vegas Show.The Indian gem and jewellery industry is making its 15th consecutive participation at the JCK Las Vegas show this year. JCK Las Vegas will take place from 1st to 4th June 2018, at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, NV. The India Pavilion organized by The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) is spread across 63 booths at the Diamond Plaza and the Passport Location. It will feature 38 of India’s top manufacturers and retailers showcasing diamonds, gems & jewellery developed especially for the show.

The show will also feature networking events and complimentary education sessions.

Mr. Pramod Agrawal, Chairman, GJEPC spoke of USA being an important market for India. In 2017 India’s gem and jewellery exports to USA was US$ 8,919.82 million. He noted that, “16 percent of the gem & jewellery requirement by USA is imported from India.” In this vein, according to Mr. Pramod Agrawal JCK Las Vegas proves an important platform for India to enhance its network and exports to the USA. Also, It will help understand market trends to create products for the buyers at the show.

He expressed confidence that the Indian participation will draw interest. He said, “buyers will get to see products of the highest quality – loose diamonds, loose coloured gemstones, plain gold jewellery and studded jewellery.”

India’s is key to the gem & jewellery trade today, with US$ 42 billion worth of total exports clocked between January-December 2017. Cut and polished diamond exports stood at US$ 23096.45 million; value of gold jewellery exports was US$ 8683.42 million, whereas coloured gemstone exports were at US$ 421.74 million.

The Indian sector also nurtures its relationship with the USA through the India Diamond Week. This platform is in association with the Diamond Dealer Club (DCC) and GJEPC as the organizer. The 7th IDW took place last year.

GJEPC has built different platforms to give expression to India’s potential as a leading global gem and jewellery hub. The India International Jewellery Show (IIJS), Asia’s largest gem & jewellery trade show, Signature IIJS and ‘India International Jewellery Week’ are some of them. It has also organized Indian pavilions across key international trade shows – Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and Basel World, Singapore Intl Jewelry Expo, Vicenza Oro Fall, Bangkok Gem & Jewelry Show, MidEast Watch & Jewellery Show, Beijing International Jewellery Fair, Malaysia International Fair and Jewellery Arabia.

The Indian gem and jewellery industry has grown in a holistic manner. Today it boasts world-class infrastructure, state-of-the-art machines and tools, best business practices. Also, MY KYC bank initiated by GJEPC for a networked and secured business is one f the other growth examples. Also, as members of Responsible Jewellery Council the companies support responsible supply chain. Following compliance guidelines of the mining companies and System of Warranties on all invoices as initiated by WFDB & WDC is part of the industry.

The sector is sensitive towards philanthropy and charity for education, health, support during national calamities and emergency situations.
