GJEPC represents G&J Industry at MSME Ministry Expo. India’s Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) represented the gem and jewellery industry at the Industrial Exhibition and MSME Expo also known as Khasdar (Sansad) Udyogic Mahotsav organised in Nagpur from 12th to 14th March 2022, under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative of the Government of India.
The event was an initiative of Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, who has made efforts to develop the MSME sector in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. It is estimated that more than 5,000 people are associated with the gem and jewellery industry in the Vidarbha region.
The MSME sector is poised for rapid growth and integration with major global value chains owing to the Government of India’s latest ‘Make in India’ push, along with Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan (Self-Reliant India Campaign).
Addressing the gathering, Mithilesh Pandey, Membership Director, GJEPC, gave a detailed speech about various initiatives undertaken by the Council to promote gem and jewellery exports, including the Jewellery Park, Parichay card, IIJS, and Digital Directory among others. Pandey was joined on the dais by Dr Subhash Ramarao Bhramre, MP, Dhule; Hemant Godse, MP, Nashik; and P.M. Parlewal, Director, Ministry of MSME along with other dignitaries.
