The Council of Ministers of the African Diamond Producers Association (ADPA) held their 6th meeting recently in Windhoek, Namibia as per Press reports.
During the meeting, a proposal was put forth for the creation of the African Diamond Exchange, which is under serious consideration, according to media reports.
During the meeting, the Council of Ministers also analyzed the declaration on the proposal for a new definition of ‘conflict diamonds’.
In addition, ADPA also discussed the declaration on synthetic diamonds; as well as and the association’s budget for the period of June 2019 to June 2020.
The meeting also to be discussed the report on the activities of the organisation’s executive secretariat for the past two years; schedule of activities for 2019-2020; and financial report of the association’s financial year 2017.
