Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair the biggest marketplace for the global jewellery community – is presenting a wide selection of diamonds, coloured gemstones and pearls as it opens its doors at the Asia World-Expo (AWE). The fair is offering the final sourcing opportunity this year for serious buyers who are building up their inventories for the coming peak selling seasons. Featuring 30 group pavilions and 25 theme zones, the B2B event is showcasing precious materials at the AWE from September 16 to 20, and will unveil finished jewellery collections, packaging solutions, tools and equipment, and industry-related technologies at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from September 18 to 22. Gemstone Displays “The September Fair has always been known for its rich and diverse selection of diamonds and coloured gemstones from top dealers, cutters and mine-to-market suppliers,” says Celine Lau, Director of Jewellery Fairs at Informa Markets. “This is the sourcing event for gems, from exotic and hard-to-find material to commercial-grade and mid-range quality goods.” One of the AWE’s core destinations is the Diamond Pavilion, which covers the full spectrum of the diamond industry. “Buyers looking for rare stones are going to find perfectly cut, flawless diamonds – either loose or set in precious metal – and in a range of hues, including fancy colour diamonds at the AWE,” Lau says. The Diamond Pavilion occupies Halls 5, 7, 9 and 11. Visitors also cannot afford to miss premium gemstone displays at the Fine Gem Pavilion (FGP), an iconic zone located in Hall 9 of AWE. This section features more than 70 of the world’s top dealers of merchandise coveted by legacy brands and collectors. The Gemstone Pavilion, where stones in virtually every hue of the rainbow are showcased, occupies Halls 1, 3, 6, 8 and 10, and Hall 1 Concourse. Pearls and precious coral from international suppliers also make Hall 1 one of the show’s popular destinations. The Lab-Grown Diamond Pavilion, which is making its debut at the September Fair, and the Jewellery Accessories zone are also located in this zone. Finished Jewellery Visitors looking for finished jewellery products will have their fill at the HKCEC section of the show from September 18 to 22. The venue’s signature destinations – Fine Design Pavilion (FDP), CORE Pavilion and International Premier Pavilion (IPP) – and other premier sections are not to be missed. Those looking for red-carpet worthy jewellery – set with diamonds, coloured gemstones, pearls and other precious materials – are going to find a wide variety of quality choices at FDP, located in the Grand Hall of the HKCEC. The CORE Pavilion (Halls 1C – E), an area highlighting the best of Hong Kong’s jewellery and gemstone industry, and the IPP (Halls 3C – D), which shines the limelight on the trends and inspirations in the world of luxury jewellery, are also anticipated to turn heads at the show. Other tightly curated spaces within HKCEC are the Fei Cui Gallery (Hall 1), Antique & Vintage Jewellery Pavilion (Convention Hall & Theatre Foyer), Designer Arena (Mezzanine 4 & Chancellor Room) and the Wedding Jewellery Pavilion (Hall 1C Concourse). New to the show are the Technology Pavilion and its dedicated exchange hub, the Tech Pod, in Hall 3B. Special Events With its programme of events, the September Fair helps attendees stay on top of industry developments. Some of these key occasions are: Hini Star, one of the jewellery sector’s most innovative companies, is unveiling its new generation of diamonds – The OPTICA Series – at the AWE on September 16 The 2019 JNA Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner will be held on September 17 at InterContinental Hong Kong. Celebrating innovation, best business practices and excellence in the industry, the JNA Awards is recognised as one of the most prestigious awards programmes in the industry The JNA Design Conference, scheduled for September 19 at the HKCEC, will give visitors the opportunity to connect with jewellers, designers and gemstone specialists in the industry Known for its High Jewellery collections, Shanghai Kimberlite Diamond Group Co Ltd will present its latest diamond creations – from statement necklaces to sculpture-like bracelets and rings – at a Jewellery Parade scheduled for September 20 and 21 at the HKCEC Tech Pod sessions will run at regular intervals from September 18 to 22 in Hall 3B, giving attendees the opportunity to discover new solutions that could help them drive business growth Gemmological laboratories and trade associations will share their latest research findings and industry updates at sessions scheduled from September 17 to 22 Jewellery & Gem To better reflect the global reach and strengths of its Jewellery & Gem Fairs portfolio, Informa Markets revealed today the refreshed brand identity of its June and September Fairs: Jewellery & Gem Asia Hong Kong for the June edition, and Jewellery & Gem World Hong Kong for the September show. “This brand-refresh initiative reflects who we are as an industry partner,” says David Bondi, Senior Vice President – Asia at Informa Markets. “Our new visual identity reaffirms our commitment to the jewellery world, and that is to connect and engage with the global jewellery community, inspire true partnership and celebrate the very best that the industry has to offer.” The refreshed brand image captures the group’s aspirations without losing sight of its core purpose and values. The logo’s hand fan, an icon in Asian culture, remains, and in the colours associated with gemstones. The 2020 edition of Jewellery & Gem World Hong Kong, the biggest jewellery fair in the world, is scheduled for September 13 to 17 at the AWE and September 15 to 19 at the HKCEC. Asia’s No. 1 mid-year event, Jewellery & Gem Asia Hong Kong, will be held from June 25 to 28 at the HKCEC.
