Positive Response at 1st carats-Surat Diamond Expo. The coming years will prove to be a great opportunity for Surat’s diamond industry. The stage has been set:-CARATS, Surat Diamond Expo 2018 the debut exhibition has marked itself as the most established loose diamond exhibition.
The event began with the grand opening ceremony inaugurated by central minister of highways honourable Shri Mansukh Mandviya, Guest of honor Shri S.P.Shah ( chairman Venus Jewels) Shri Govind bhai Dholakia ( chairman SRK ) Mr. Martin Rapaport, Shri Vallabh bhai Lakhani ( chairman Kiran gems ) Shri Lalji bhai patel ( Dharmanadan diamonds )Shri Kishore bhai Maldar ( Karp Impex) Smt. Darshana ben ( loksabha member ) and eminent personalities from jewellery fraternity.
A carats was an exclusive B2B loose diamond exhibition held for the first time in India. A carats was a talk of the town since it was declared as the booth charges were extremely low i.e. 40,000 and 45,000. The exhibition committee worked smartly to give world class arrangements. The security arrangements were immaculately planned to avoid any risk and Aadhar Card, used as a security tool really streamlined the process of making the entry and exit smooth and hassle-free. The exhibitors were happy in terms of buyers and arrangements in the exhibition.
Gourav Sethi, Exhibition Convener told that around 200 visitors approached him and showed a keen interest in participating in the second edition of Carats. He told that SDA endeavours to make Surat, a trading hub.
Martin Rapaport, who visited Carats, in his conference, mentioned that ‘Surat is the marketplace of the future’.
In the closing ceremony, all the past presidents of SDA were felicitated and mementoes were handed over to all the exhibitors. Babu Bhai N. Gujarati, President SDA informed that second edition of CARATS will soon be announced.
