Shankaar Sen, 63, CMD of Senco Gold Ltd passed away in Kolkata on 28th July. Also, he was one of the founding members of GJC. He had been battling COVID-19 for the past few weeks.
In a statement N Anantha Padmanaban, MD, NAC jewelers said “ Mr. Sen was one of the founding members of GJC and a prominent personality in the gems and jewelry industry”. Importantly, he was an inspiration to all in the jewelry fraternity. He will be remembered as a man with a vision.
He won several awards including “GJTCI Excellence Awards”. Sachin Jain, MD, De Beers, India mourned for him.
Mr. Sen was instrumental in putting the brand Senco Gold and Diamonds on the National map. Also, he made Senco Gold and Diamonds, the largest gold jeweler from eastern India. Apart from this, he expanded its footprint across 14 states.
