India Diamond Week in Shenzhen to Breed Growth in Bilateral Trade.The India Diamond Week held in Shenzhen brought an opportunity to connect and build business ties among Chinese and Indian diamond and jewellery manufacturers, as per reports. The event took place for three days from June 13-15. 2018. The platform witnessed 20 Indian diamond manufacturers and jewellery manufacturers from Shenzhen ad other parts of China participating.

The India Diamond Week was organised by The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council in association with the Shenzhen Rough Diamond Exchange (SRDE).

The gathering was addressed by leading personalities from the industry – Rong Julius Zheng, Vice President, SRDE and Guo Xiao Fei, Secretary General of Shenzhen Gold and Jewellery Association, Sanjay Singh, Regional Director, Rajasthan as representative of the GJEPC and Naheed Sunke, Asst. Director, International Events. Also, Indian participants and the Chinese representatives signed a backdrop of posters from each company exhibiting at the event.

According to Sanjay Singh, increasing number if such events would support the growing bilateral trade between the two countries. Last year, there was a 29 percent shoot up  (on y-o-y basis) in the trade to US$ 21.41 billion. India’s exports to China were US$ 13.96 billion, as per reports.

As Guo Xiao Fei explained, the Chinese market has witnessed growth last year and there is potential for growth in its demand for diamond jewellery, reports add.
