Diam Holding, a US company has launched DiamTek, a new technology for traceability, smartphone-related consumer experiences and the revitalization of the diamond financing markets, according to a press note from the company.
Scarselli Diamonds, a polished diamond trader and jewelry consignee to the trade, and Benoit J. P. Flammang, CEO at Beninvest have filed patents related to nano-laser tagging and Blockchain-based technologies, that aim to eliminate fraud, improve traceability and revive the availability of financing in the diamond industry.
The patents focus on the immutable sub-surface nano-laser tagging of diamonds and their registration on permission-based Blockchains. This technology will allow jewelers, bankers, pawnshops, insurance companies and the general public to use a proprietary voice-activated smartphone application, powered by Artificial Intelligence that uses the phone’s camera to read the tags and pull up all corresponding diamond registered information. This will not only confirm origin, verify traceability and avoid fraud, but will help establish a trustworthy marketplace for ancillary service providers to the diamond industry and the general public. The nano-laser tag does not affect a diamond’s clarity or color, as per gemological universal standards.
DiamTek tagging, Blockchain registration, and intelligent smartphone reading is at the core of patent-pending technologies that also cover:- financing platforms for either straight financing and/or peer-to-peer financing of DiamTek tagged and registered diamonds;- a digital assets, “zero-trust” Token exchange for DiamTek tagged diamonds, which aims to boost worldwide trade by equating one Token to one diamond.
