This initiative began in 2017 with programs like “Men’s Health” and “Prevention, and early diagnosis of diseases of the digestive system” in which approx. 5,500 employees in October-December underwent health checks.
The health examinations were done by professionals from the international medical center “SOGAZ” specially invited to examine the employees in Udachny, Aikhal, Mirny and Lensk. The cost towards this was around RUB 30 million and the company intends to spend more on health screenings this year.
ALROSA witnessed a high receptivity from employees towards the program and will continue early diagnosis and preventive measures. It will conduct new programs – “Cardio-screening” and “Women’s Health”, and a program to diagnose diseases of the digestive system between August 2 to November 30, 2018. It is estimating the total finance of screening programs to be around RUB 77 million and about 10,500 people are expected to be examined.
Yulia Kulakova, Director of ALROSA Medical Center cited employee healthcare to be an integral part of ALROSA’s social programs. Yulia further noted that, “A large number of participants of the program shows that people understand the importance of early diagnosis. It is important for ALROSA to provide employees with this opportunity, especially given the fact that most of the employees work in areas far from major cities.”
