GJEPC Hosts Seminars to Encourage Exports

GJEPC hosts seminars to encourage exports.The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) interacted with the industry at seminars organized in Surat and Jaipur on how to promote gem and jewellery exports.

The seminar in Surat took place on June 16th with an audience of over 500 potential exporters across the city and from neighboring areas and around 150 Council members. GJEPC organized the seminar along with DGFT. Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping, Chemical & Fertilizers, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya and Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Shri C. R. Chaudhary were present as Chief Guests who were joined by Hon’ble Mayor of Surat Dr. Jagdish Patel and leading personalities from Surat and Gujarat.

Shri Chaudhary shared efforts taken by the central government and stressed on focusing on quality and excellence. Shri Mandaviya motivated local traders/manufacturers to join the export sector and assured support.

Shri Suvidh Shah, Deputy DGFT, Rajkot spoke on Export Cycle and Start-up, Foreign Trade Agreement, Goods & Services Tax, etc. The talks helped new entrants to the industry gain insights into basic issues. Regional Chairman Shri Dinesh Navadiya shared efforts undertaken by GJEPC in Gujarat and its role to increase exports of the sector.

GJEPC Regional Chairman Shri Dinesh Navadiya and Committee members of Gujarat region interacted with Shri C. R. Chaudhary on bank finance related issues, accumulated Input Tax Credit and introduction of Job Work policy for diamond industry, etc. Shri C. R. Chaudhary assures taking up these issues and also highlighted the need to be on par with global standards to create a good demand for Indian products and spur employment and exports.

The GJEPC Rajasthan region organized an MSME Seminar in Jaipur. The event saw a privileged attendance. Shri Virendra Singh, Jt. DGFT, Jaipur was invited as Chief Guest. Other dignitaries who attended included – Shri Pradeep Ojha, Dy. Director, MSME, Shri Avindra Laddha, Jt. Director, Industries, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Prateek Chaturvedi, NSIC, Shri Nitin Dumasia, Consultant, Lean Manufacturing Competitive Scheme, and Shri Naren Kotak, Edelweiss. There were over 50 member-exporters who participated.

Talks touched on various schemes by Rajasthan Government related to reimbursing ground rent paid for participating at exhibitions abroad, MSME Schemes, NSIC Schemes to give grants to a participant at domestic and international exhibitions, Lean manufacturing competitiveness scheme, Swasthya Ratna policy, Swasthya Kosh, Parichay card, among others.
