SODIAM E.P. released its official annual balance sheet for the trading and export of rough diamonds in 2025.

The results of rough diamond sales in 2025 confirm that Angola has successfully adapted its commercial strategy to the evolving international diamond market, despite a challenging global context for natural diamonds.

During 2025, Angola traded approximately 17.7 million carats, generating revenues of around USD 1.8 billion, representing an increase of 70.2% in volume and 21.1% in value compared to 2024.

These figures reflect a significant expansion in the country’s capacity to place its diamonds on the international market, driven by increased production at the Luele mine, despite a 28.9% decline in the average selling price per carat.

The growth in volumes sold and revenue was supported by more efficient sales management, including the strategic decision not to build up stocks, in contrast to what happened in 2023 and 2024 at the Catoca and Luele mines.

Regarding exports, 17.2 million carats were exported during 2025, representing an increase of 68.9% compared to 2024, despite challenging market conditions characterized by structural changes and shifts in end-consumer preferences.

These results underscore the importance of the diamond sector to Angola’s national economy.
