35th Premier IIJS 2018 Focus on Exporters and MSME Manufacturers.The 35th Premier IIJS 2018 is scheduled between 9th August –13th August, 2018 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon. Like its preceding editions, the platform communicates to the world, India’s leading role in the global gem and jewellery industry. This five-day edition will precede with a special preview on 8th August for International Buyers and select leading retailers, Buyers, retail Chains & Industry leaders.
The show will draw the largest gathering across retailers, wholesalers, distributors and designers. Around 40,000 across 800+ cities, towns in India and 80+ countries, 1300+ exhibitors, 2500+ stalls will make up the event.
Mr. Pramod Agrawal, Chairman, GJEPC spoke of the growing recognition of IIJS as Asia’s leading jewellery trade fair in the past 3 and half decades. Continuing further he said, “IIJS 2018 would showcase the best jewellery collections crafted by over 1,300 of the country’s leading manufacturers. Focus this year would be on providing support to Exporters and MSME manufacturers.”
According to Mr. Pramod Agrawal, the flagship show demonstrates India’s jewellery manufacturing. Today it is at the rank of a reliable and competitive source for retailers and consumers, worldwide. He also noted that, “the global trade partners and their buying cycles revolves around the exhibition, for replenishing their inventories and for getting insights/perspective on future styles, forecasts and trend-spotting.”
India’s gem and jewellery exports in FY 17-18 stood at USD 40972.36 million. IIJS is the flagship event by GJEPC. The Council has a major contribution in steering India’s gem and jewellery exports.
IIJS offers a plethora of product segments including Diamonds, Gemstones, Gold and studded Jewellery. IIJS 2018 will highlight the computer aided 3D manufacturing and designing methods displayed.
Mr. Shailesh Sangani, Convener, Exhibition National spoke of a new experience at IIJS this year. He stated, “By introducing Hall 7 A with 10800 sq. mts. of area, we have facilitated 800 new booths for the ease of the public and buyers on a large scale.” Also, an online business matching program and knowledge seminars will help business development with international buyers and exhibitors. “Like last year, GJEPC will be organizing a Prelude to IIJS, a B2B jewellery fashion showcase and a special CSR event wherein GJEPC and its members would donate 1 crore in Charity,” he added.
Knowledge seminars presenting experts from technology to design trends and marketing, will inform of the latest industry trends. An exclusive international pavilion of Thailand, UAE, Turkey and Italy; 150 new exhibitors and suppliers are new additions to the show. Further, there will be 300 new parking lots in the IT Park, 250 mtrs of special covered walkway from hall 1 towards Lodha parking, Golf carts for senior citizens and the specially-abled. Three badges valid for 6 events (IIJS premier 3 shows & IIJS Signature 3 Shows) have been introduced to do away with paperwork. Plans are to take it online in the future.
The Machinery will be at Hotel Lalit and Hotel Leela with an access to the latest machinery and technology. There will be a showcase of Jewellery Production Machinery & Equipment; Diamond Production Machinery & Equipment, Gemstones Machinery, Casting & Electric Casting Equipment, Precious Alloy, Refinery Ingredients, and Tools & Equipment.
IIJS proves to be an important platform for leading Indian exhibitors, manufacturers and retailers to network and connect with market insights, knowledge, and to demonstrate India’s leadership in the sector.
The event promotions will include 200 + Domestic Door to Door Roadshows across India. Roadshows will also be taken overseas to Bangladesh, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Doha & Nepal.
